Melissa Saucier
Director of Public Relations

Melissa Saucier is the Director of Public Relations & Marketing for the Hancock County School District. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Southern Mississippi, a Master of Arts in Teaching from William Carey University, a Specialist in Educational Leadership from Arkansas State University and she is currently pursing her Doctorate in Educational Leadership from William Carey University. She holds certifications in speech, English, social studies, and administration (K-12). With 17 years of experience in education, she has served as a teacher, Instructional Coach/Lead Teacher, Assistant Principal, Interim Principal, Federal Programs and Professional Development Coordinator, and Director of Public Relations and Marketing. She began her careerĀ  in education during the semester immediately following Hurricane Katrina as an alternate-routeĀ  educator at Hancock Middle School. Her passion for teaching was quickly recognized and she continued to expand her experience and education over the years into administration, where she has been recognized by the National Association of Federal Education Program Administrators receiving a state leadership award for Mississippi. Melissa is excited to return “home” to Hancock County School District to work collaboratively with all stakeholders to provide innovative teaching and learning experiences throughout the district.

Melissa resides in Hancock County and is a graduate of Hancock High School . She has three children and enjoys listening to music, reading, traveling, and creating memories with her close family and friends. Melissa believes the quote, “The true measure of success is determined by the effort you demonstrate to help others reach their goals.” She prides herself as being is a lifelong learner and looks forward to supporting and serving the students, staffulty, and community of Hancock County School District.
