Educator Preparation

Students from the Hancock County Career and Technical Center’s Educator Preparation program proudly showcased their talents at the Mississippi Educators Rising Conference, held this February at William Carey University.

Competing against students from across the state, HCCTC participants delivered strong performances in a variety of education-focused categories. Their success reflects not only their commitment to the teaching profession but also the strength of the Educator Preparation program at HCCTC.

Student Highlights:

  • Jordan Malley earned 2nd place in Exploring Non-Core Subject Teaching Careers.

  • Emma Hopkins placed 4th in Exploring Education Administration Careers.

  • Andrea Moseley and Maddy Ory took 5th place in Interactive Bulletin Board.

  • Talia Morgan secured 5th place in Public Speaking.

  • Emilee Battaglia placed 5th in Children’s Literature.

  • Brody Hilliard and Kelsey Norris earned 6th place in Inside Our Schools.

“We are incredibly proud of our students for their hard work and professionalism,” said HCCTC Educator Preparation instructor. “These future educators are already making an impact, and this experience only strengthens their path toward becoming leaders in the classroom.”

The Mississippi Educators Rising Conference is an annual event designed to inspire and prepare high school students for careers in education through competition, collaboration, and connection with educators across the state.
