Our school recently received a special gift in celebration of the 40th anniversary of the Mississippi Farm Bureau Federation’s Agriculture in the Classroom program. To mark this milestone, the organization’s State Women’s Leadership Committee selected one agriculture-themed book to donate to every public school library across the state.

The gift was presented as a way to thank schools for helping promote agriculture and agricultural awareness within their communities. Agriculture plays an important role in Mississippi’s heritage and economy, and programs like Agriculture in the Classroom help students learn about where their food, fiber, and natural resources come from.

Our school library was proud to receive this special book, which will provide students with an engaging opportunity to learn more about agriculture and its importance in our daily lives.

Pictured in the photo are our principal, our school librarian, a representative from the Farm Bureau Women’s Leadership Committee, and three of our 2nd grade students who were excited to be part of the presentation.

We are grateful to the Mississippi Farm Bureau for supporting literacy and agricultural education in schools across the state! 🌱📚
