Chayna Penton is a seasoned educator with fourteen years of experience in the field of education.  With a solid foundations as math department lead, lead teacher, and assistant principal, Chayna has honed her skills in leadership, curriculum development, and fostering academic excellence.  Her dedication to the profession extends beyond the classroom, as evidenced by her presentations at prestigious educational conferences such as the ACT Southeastern Conference, Making Connections, and the MIssissippi Council of Teachers of Mathematics Conference.

Chayna’s commitment to excellence in teaching was recognized with her national board certification in eatly adolescent mathematics in December 2021, a testament to her expertise and dedication to student learning.  She holds a Bachelor’s degree in mathematics licensure from the University of Southern Mississippi and a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Arkansas State University.

Chayna was awarded the Milken Educator Award known as the “Oscars of Teaching” in 2021. This award is given to educators with “exceptional educational talent as evidenced by effective and innovative instructional practices and student learning results in the classroom and school.”
