Hancock County School District is proud to announce that multiple schools have been recognized with 2025 PREPS Achievement and Growth Awards, highlighting strong academic progress and student growth across the district.
The PREPS Achievement Award is given to grade levels that demonstrate a scale score increase at least twice the state average, recognizing exceptional academic gains. The PREPS Growth Award is presented to schools ranking in the top 10% across Mississippi for overall growth in English Language Arts (ELA) and/or Mathematics.
The following schools were recognized:
East Hancock Elementary earned a 4th Grade Math Achievement Award and was also recognized for outstanding growth, receiving both the Top 10% ELA Growth Award and the Top 10% Math Growth Award.
Hancock North Central Elementary received Achievement Awards for both 3rd Grade Math and 4th Grade Math, reflecting strong academic progress across multiple grade levels.
South Hancock Elementary was recognized with a 3rd Grade Math Achievement Award and a 5th Grade ELA Achievement Award, showcasing student growth in both core content areas.
Hancock High School earned a Top 10% Math Growth Award, placing it among the highest-performing schools in the state for student growth in mathematics.
These recognitions highlight the district’s continued focus on student achievement and growth, as well as the collective efforts of teachers, leaders, and staffulty to support every student’s success.
