🎉 Welding II students wanted to celebrate completing the two-year welding program and achieving a 100% pass rate on their National Certification Test, so they decided to cook breakfast for themselves. It was a great time filled with good food and celebration. Congratulations to these students on becoming Nationally Certified welders! 👏. #MakingWavesOfGreatness #HawksHaveGrit

Emily Battaglia, Emma Hopkins, and Raleigh Seal were selected as recipients of the IMPACT Scholarship at Pearl River Community College on Tuesday, April 21. This special scholarship was made possible through the generosity of an anonymous donor who wished to recognize and support outstanding students and teachers across Mississippi. Through this gift, the donor hoped to celebrate the powerful influence educators have on their students’ lives and future careers. These Hancock Career and Technical Center students wrote an essay about their career plans and the teacher who had an “impact” on their lives. Emily and Emma selected Ms. April Davis, and Raleigh Seal selected Ms. LaShea Wilson as their IMPACT teachers. During the scholarship luncheon on the PRCC Poplarville Campus, it was inspiring to see the meaningful connections between students and educators that continue to shape future leaders. #MakingWavesOfGreatness

We had the opportunity to take our Law and Public Safety students to the Fire Department today for a hands-on, real-world learning experience. This visit gave students valuable insight into daily operations and allowed them to see how classroom concepts directly apply in real-life situations. It was an outstanding field experience, and we sincerely appreciate Mr. Lafontaine and the entire Fire Department team for their time, dedication, and for providing such a meaningful opportunity for our students. #MakingWavesOfGreatness

A big thank you to the Hancock County Emergency Operations Center for hosting our Law and Public Safety class. Our students were given an incredible behind-the-scenes look at the vital work that keeps our community safe each day. From the high-pressure environment of dispatch and emergency preparedness to the frontline efforts of firefighters, EMTs, and law enforcement officers, this experience provided truly invaluable insight. We are especially grateful to Holly Bilbo, Curtis Broughton, and Michelle K. Cuevas for sharing their time, knowledge, and expertise, and for inspiring the next generation of first responders. #MakingWavesOfGreatness

What an incredible month for our Law and Public Safety students! From mastering proper handcuffing techniques to gaining firsthand insight during their visit to the Mississippi Department of Corrections, students have been fully immersed in real-world experiences. A standout moment was the hands-on training in both routine and felony traffic stops, providing valuable, practical skills. We extend our sincere appreciation to the Hancock County Sheriff’s Department for their continued partnership and for giving our students the opportunity to learn directly from experienced professionals.
