HCCTC's very own Work Based Learning instructor, Ms. Schenel Fricke, presented at the MS ACTE Conference! She shared student highlights and other successful strategies with fellow Work Based Learning colleagues. Ms. Vanessa Chatelain, our career coach from SMPDD, accompanied Mrs. Fricke and together they explained the benefits of supporting each other and working together to help students. Our Work Based Learning Program is a great way for students to earn academic credits and also work and earn money while obtaining real life work experience! Thank you, Ms. Fricke and Ms. Chatelain for your hard work and a great presentation!

We’re looking for a reliable and friendly pool attendant to join our team this summer.
Requirements:
* 18 years or older
* Have a valid drivers license,
* Be comfortable going between all four pools using a golf cart,
* Be ready to help keep everything running smooth and safe for our members.
Other duties include:
*Cleaning and restocking bathrooms
*Checking membership cards
*Selling passes to member's guests
*Taking out garbage
*Straightening pool furniture
Shifts:
Monday - Friday: 8 AM - 2 PM and 2 PM-8PM
Saturday and Sunday: 6AM- 2:00 PM and 2 PM- 8 PM

Both men who applied to receive grants from the Tanner Adam Memorial Fund and were awarded: Mr. Chris’s Precision Machining program was awarded $12,318 to purchase a CNC Lathe Mr. Willie’s Welding program was awarded $1,499 to purchase Lincoln Tig Welding machine. Thank you to The Tanner Adam Memorial Fund for donating the funds to purchase the items which will benefit our Hancock County Career & Technical Center students by expanding their experience to use in the workforce.
Today, HCCTC celebrated Mr. Willie Santiago for becoming our 'officially certified' welding instructor. Mr. Willie has shown grit and perseverance to accomplish this goal and kept a smile on his face the entire time. We are so proud of him and look forward to another incredible year of watching him touch lives and teach welding!!
HCCTC hosted the monthly Port and Harbor Commission meeting along with other industries to discuss career opportunities for our students. The industry representatives were taken on a tour of our facility and informed on each program. A great outreach to open doors for our students!! #hcctc #hnation #flyingtogreatnwss

📣 Dress Code Update for 2025–2026
Hancock County School District has updated its student dress code to reflect a more flexible, guideline-based approach—thanks to feedback from our families and staffulty.
Out of 1,895 total survey responses, 70.3% supported moving away from the previous uniform-style policy to a dress code based on general expectations for appropriate attire.
👕 Students will now have more choice—while still being expected to dress neatly and appropriately for school.
