Ed Prep students recently had the opportunity to visit the William Carey University Traditions Campus to learn more about their outstanding education program and available scholarship opportunities. The experience allowed them to ask questions, explore campus life, and begin envisioning their next steps toward a career in education.

Welding II and Precision Machining students recently had the opportunity to visit Point Eight Power and Alpek Polyester for an industry tour and career-focused learning experience. Students gained firsthand insight into real-world manufacturing, safety practices, and the skills employers look for, helping connect classroom instruction to careers in the industrial workforce. #MakingWavesOfGreatness

Ms Schenel Fricke, our Work Based Learning instructor, was awarded the Leo W. Seal Innovative Teacher Grant. This is a huge honor, as only ten out of a pool of fifty-four applicants were awarded. The Leo W. Seal Innovative Teacher Grant Program honors exceptional Mississippi teachers whose commitment and creativity help prepare young people to achieve their dreams. Ms. Fricke is a deserving recipient for this award as she exhibits all of the qualities of an exceptional teacher!! Congratulations Ms. Fricke! We are so proud of you!!

To help clear up any confusion, Hancock County School District will dismiss at normal times today, Monday, January 26.
Although schools started one hour later this morning, dismissal times are not delayed.

❄️ Weather Update: Delayed Start ❄️
Due to cold morning temperatures, Hancock County School District will start school one hour later than normal on Monday, January 26. This delayed start helps keep students safe and allows time to ensure buses are operating properly so students are not waiting outside in extreme temperatures.

A big thank-you to Coach Hopgood and his STEM class for collaborating with the Law and Public Safety class today on emergency exit planning for the Career Technical Center. Students worked together using computer software to design and model the facility realistically. They also created hand-drawn layouts and developed a PowerPoint presentation outlining the building design and its safety features. #MakingWavesOfGreatness #FlyingToGreatness

The Hancock Robotics teams competed over the weekend at two separate venues. The Electrobots attended a Signature Event at Auburn University, where they faced some of the nation’s top teams. Meanwhile, Robodux captured the championship at the local tournament, defeating Dabox and the Thunderbolts in the finals. #MakingWavesOfGreatness #Hnation
