💜💚💛 MARDI GRAS MAMBO at HCCTC! The halls of Hancock County Career Technical Center were full of smiles and beads as our Hawks Nest babies rolled through in the cutest Mardi Gras parade! Decked out in festive wagon “floats,” they waved, laughed, and tossed beads to students and staff along the way. 💚💛💜🎭✨.

Ms Schenel Fricke, our Work Based Learning instructor, was awarded the Leo W. Seal Innovative Teacher Grant.
This is a huge honor, as only ten out of a pool of fifty-four applicants were awarded.
The Leo W. Seal Innovative Teacher Grant Program honors exceptional Mississippi teachers whose commitment and creativity help prepare young people to achieve their dreams. Ms. Fricke is a deserving recipient for this award as she exhibits all of the qualities of an exceptional teacher!! Congratulations Ms. Fricke! We are so proud of you!!

Due to cold morning temperatures, Hancock County School District will start school one hour later than normal on Monday, January 26. This delayed start helps keep students safe and allows time to ensure buses are operating properly so students are not waiting outside in extreme temperatures.

A big thank-you to Coach Hopgood and his STEM class for collaborating with the Law and Public Safety class today on emergency exit planning for the Career Technical Center. Students worked together using computer software to design and model the facility realistically. They also created hand-drawn layouts and developed a PowerPoint presentation outlining the building design and its safety features. #MakingWavesOfGreatness #FlyingToGreatness








The Hancock Robotics teams competed over the weekend at two separate venues. The Electrobots attended a Signature Event at Auburn University, where they faced some of the nation’s top teams. Meanwhile, Robodux captured the championship at the local tournament, defeating Dabox and the Thunderbolts in the finals. #MakingWavesOfGreatness #Hnation

Hancock Career and Technical Center Hosts Hancock County Leadership Team
Hancock County, MS — Hancock Career and Technical Center (HCCTC) recently welcomed the Chamber of Hancock County Leadership Team for a full day of engagement, learning, and collaboration aimed at showcasing the center’s programs and student success.
The visit began with a delicious breakfast prepared by HCCTC’s Culinary Arts students under the direction of instructor Chef Dani. Students also provided lunch for attendees later in the day, demonstrating their skills in food preparation, presentation, and hospitality.
Following the meal, members of the Leadership Team participated in a guided tour of HCCTC, where instructors from various programs shared insights into their curricula and career pathways. Guests had the opportunity to observe students actively engaged in hands-on learning experiences, highlighting the center’s commitment to workforce readiness and technical excellence.
The day also featured guest speakers who provided additional perspectives on education, workforce development, and community partnerships throughout Hancock County.
HCCTC expressed appreciation to Chef Dani and the Culinary Arts students for their outstanding work in preparing the meals and representing the program with professionalism and pride. The visit reinforced the strong connection between HCCTC and the local business and leadership community, underscoring the center’s mission of preparing students for success beyond the classroom.



Our talented Culinary students dove into the Christmas festivities by participating in a gingerbread house contest. Students worked in teams to brainstorm and create the gingerbread house of their choosing. They were all beautifully done!! We had a wonderful visit from some amazing elves today!! On this bitter cold day, the people in this photo visited all the schools in the district to deliver hot chocolate to staffulty members! It was delicious and brought us all a little warmth! Thank you to all who were involved in making this happen!

HCCTC hosted the Chamber Hancock County Leadership team for a day! Culinary students, led by instructor, Chef Dani, provided a delicious breakfast and lunch for all. The Leadership team was taken on a tour of HCCTC where they listened to instructors speak about their programs and had the opportunity to observe students in action. There were also guest speakers throughout the day.
