Hawk Pride Spotlight: LaShea Wilson๐ฆ
A true Hancock Hawk through and through, LaShea Wilson attended Hancock schools for all 12 years and was part of one of the first classes to attend Hancock High School beginning in 10th grade after the new building opened in 1990โ1991. She graduated from HHS in 1993 with highest honors, earning Hall of Fame recognition, District Offensive Player of the Year, and a basketball scholarship to PRCC.
As a student, LaShea played basketball from 6thโ12th grade and also kept stats for the HHS football team. Coaches who made a lasting impact on her included Debbie Triplett, Alan Dedeaux, and Coach Perniciaro. She also credits several educators for shaping her path, including Mr. Koph, Ms. Dedeaux, Ms. Lovelace, Kim Saucier, and Sandra (Sandy) Adams.
After becoming a Registered Nurse, LaShea dedicated 28 years to Hancock Medical Center, serving in nearly every department and as school nurse for Hancock North Central and Hancock High School. Since 2018, she has continued giving back as the Healthcare & Clinical Services Instructor at HHS and as an American Heart Association CPR Certified Instructor.
From basketball games and pep rallies to being crowned Homecoming Queen and building lifelong friendships, LaShea says her favorite memory is simply being a Hawk. Today, seeing her former students succeed in the healthcare field is her greatest reward.
๐ LaShea says, "It truly is a blessing to be home at HHS!" ๐
