After years of dedication, care, and endless support, we’re celebrating the retirement of Ms. Shallenberger! She has made a lasting impact on both students and staff — always ready to help, always showing kindness, and always putting others first.
As you head into this new chapter, we hope your days are filled with peaceful mornings, happy chickens, fresh eggs, and lots of quality time with your wonderful family.
You’ll be missed more than words can say. Enjoy every moment — you’ve earned it!

Our 5th graders are now published authors! They worked hard, going through every step of the writing process to create a special book filled with their favorite memories from their time at EHE. Each student contributed their story, and together they created something truly unforgettable!
5th grade classes also packed their “suitcases” full of 5th grade memories and are ready for takeoff — destination: 6th grade! We’re so proud of all their hard work, creativity, and growth.

Ms. Lindsey’s 5th graders brought The Three Little Pigs to life in a courtroom drama like no other! The Big Bad Wolf stood trial, and our students took on the roles of lawyers, witnesses, and jury members.
Using evidence from the story, they argued whether the Wolf was truly guilty or just misunderstood. With strong arguments and creative storytelling, the courtroom was full of excitement and critical thinking.
The verdicts are in—and justice was served in Ms. Lindsey’s ELA classes!

Congratulations to Ms. Hunnicutt on receiving the Gritty Gator from Ms. Lindsey!

📣 Dress Code Update for 2025–2026
Hancock County School District has updated its student dress code to reflect a more flexible, guideline-based approach—thanks to feedback from our families and staffulty.
Out of 1,895 total survey responses, 70.3% supported moving away from the previous uniform-style policy to a dress code based on general expectations for appropriate attire.
👕 Students will now have more choice—while still being expected to dress neatly and appropriately for school.
🎥 Watch this short video for an overview of what’s changing and what’s expected:
