🚫 No School for Hancock High – Friday, August 1 🚫
Due to the ongoing air conditioning outage, Hancock High School will be CLOSED Friday to allow our team time to complete repairs and ensure the building is ready for students to safely return on Monday.
🔹 This closure is for HHS only
🔹 Middle and elementary schools will remain on normal schedule
Thank you for your understanding as we work quickly to restore safe learning conditions. We’ll share any updates if needed.

Due to an A/C outage at Hancock High School and today’s high heat index, Hancock County School District is dismissing students early for safety:
🔹 Hancock High School: 12:30 PM
🔹 Hancock Middle School: 12:40 PM
Lunch will be served before dismissal. Elementary schools are NOT affected and will remain on regular schedule.
We will provide an update later today regarding Friday’s schedule.

Hancock County School District’s admin team kicked off the 2025–2026 school year with energy and purpose at our annual Admin Summit in early July!
We were inspired by keynote speaker Dr. Adam Breerwood, President of PRCC, and gained valuable insight during a tour of Stennis International Airport and local industries — made possible through our partnership with Hancock County Port & Harbor.
District directors shared important updates, and our team collaborated to review data and finalize plans for a strong start to the school year.
To cap it off, we named our first WaveMaker of the year:
🏅 Superintendent Rhett Ladner
His vision, service, and relentless leadership continue to move H Nation forward.
The waves of greatness are already in motion! 🌊

As we prepare to Make Waves of Greatness this school year, here are the morning car rider drop-off times for each campus in Hancock County School District. ⏰
🚘 Student drivers who drop off siblings at other campuses may apply for a Priority Transportation Permit. This permit allows them to move to the front of the middle school car line to help ensure an on-time arrival at Hancock High.
