OpenGate weapon detectors will be in use at all stadium entrances, and additional security will be on site throughout the event. As we close out the week, we’re reminding families of the Top 3 Critical Rules every student should follow for a safe ride to and from school:
🚏 At the Stop:
Wait at least 10 feet from the curb and always arrive early—never run for the bus.
🪑 On the Bus:
Stay seated and quiet. Keep aisles clear of backpacks and other items to prevent trips or falls.
🚸 Crossing the Street:
Walk in front of the bus (5 big steps) and make eye contact with the driver before crossing.
✅ Simple steps = safer rides for everyone.

This week, students across Hancock County School District participated in school bus emergency evacuation drills to help them stay calm, confident, and prepared in case of an emergency. These drills teach students how to exit the bus safely, follow the driver’s instructions, and understand what to do if something unexpected happens while riding.

Let’s keep safety a priority on every ride! Whether you're a student or a parent, these top 3 rules help make sure everyone gets to school and back safely:
✅ Be Safe: Sit in your assigned seat, facing forward, and keep your arms and legs inside the bus.
