A big shout out to our awesome and talented CTC student, Emilee Battaglia. She did a beautiful job of painting a sea turtle on our CTC "surf board." Emilee completed the Ed Prep program last year and will be taking our Work Based Learning class this year. She has definitely made waves at the CTC by using her many talents to help teachers and students with projects. We appreciate you, Emilee! You are a wave maker!! 🌊

HCCTC participated in a great team building activity today! Chef Dani led the way instructing three teams on how to make pasta. When the past was finished, the layering began for the final product, which was lasagna. It was supposed to be a competition, but all three groups blew it out the water "making waves of greatness!!" They were delicious and a great time was had by all!!! Thank you Chef Dani for a great activity!! HCCTC IS A GREAT TEAM! 🌊 #MakingWavesOfGreatness #Hnation #TeamBuilding

HCCTC held its first annual "Industry Appreciation Barbecue" today. Thanks to our Work Based Learning instructor, Ms. Schenel Fricke for organizing and putting this event together. It was a great day of networking between industries and educators. Many of these industries offer our Work Based Learning students employment at their businesses to gain real life work experiences while still earning their high school diploma. The industry representatives were taken on tours of the CTC facility by our student ambassadors and listened to a couple of previous CTC students share how the CTC program shaped their future after graduation. A delicious meal was had by all and was prepared by "Dat Kitchen" in Waveland. Donations for the meal was provided by the Port and Harbor Commission. Thanks to all who donated and participated to make this event a great success. #MakingWavesOfGreatness. #Hnation.

HCCTC's very own Work Based Learning instructor, Ms. Schenel Fricke, presented at the MS ACTE Conference! She shared student highlights and other successful strategies with fellow Work Based Learning colleagues. Ms. Vanessa Chatelain, our career coach from SMPDD, accompanied Mrs. Fricke and together they explained the benefits of supporting each other and working together to help students. Our Work Based Learning Program is a great way for students to earn academic credits and also work and earn money while obtaining real life work experience! Thank you, Ms. Fricke and Ms. Chatelain for your hard work and a great presentation! They had a few fans who showed up for support! All 10's!!! 😁👍🏻
