Whitney McCardle is a proud Hancock High School alumna who has dedicated the past 19 years to serving the Hancock County School District. She has spent her entire career at the Hancock County Career Technical Center, including 17 years in The Hawks Nest.
Now serving as the Early Childhood Education instructor, Whitney is passionate about teaching high school students how to care for and nurture the next generation. We’re honored to have her voice on this year’s Staff Advisory Council!

Dinah Bond is entering her fifth year as a certified teacher at Hancock North Central Elementary, where she teaches 3rd grade English Language Arts. With many years in education overall, she brings both experience and heart to her classroom.
She and her husband of 23 years have two sons—both proud Hawk graduates—now pursuing their careers. Outside of school, Dinah enjoys spending time outdoors and serving in her church community.

Originally from Philadelphia, Mississippi, Hannah Jenkins is a proud Mississippi State University graduate with a degree in Elementary Education. She is currently in her seventh year of teaching and entering her second year as the 4th grade ELA teacher at East Hancock Elementary.
Hannah is passionate about helping students grow as readers and writers and is committed to creating a classroom that’s engaging, supportive, and fun. We’re excited to have her representing EHE on this year’s Staff Advisory Council!

Tracey Bennett has been part of the Hancock County School District since 1997 and began her teaching career at Hancock North Central in 2003. She now serves as the Special Education Case Manager at Hancock High School, where she advocates for student success and support services.
Tracey is honored to represent HHS on this year’s Staff Advisory Council and looks forward to contributing to collaborative efforts that strengthen our district.

Alexis Hill is a dedicated educator with 10 years of teaching experience, including the past six at South Hancock Elementary. Originally from New Orleans, Louisiana, she holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Southeastern Louisiana University and earned her teaching certification from Southern University at New Orleans.

Due to the ongoing air conditioning outage, Hancock High School will be CLOSED Friday to allow our team time to complete repairs and ensure the building is ready for students to safely return on Monday.
🔹 This closure is for HHS only
🔹 Middle and elementary schools will remain on normal schedule
Thank you for your understanding as we work quickly to restore safe learning conditions. We’ll share any updates if needed.

Due to an A/C outage at Hancock High School and today’s high heat index, Hancock County School District is dismissing students early for safety:
🔹 Hancock High School: 12:30 PM
🔹 Hancock Middle School: 12:40 PM
Lunch will be served before dismissal. Elementary schools are NOT affected and will remain on regular schedule.
We will provide an update later today regarding Friday’s schedule.
