Miss Fricke‘s Work Based Learning student, Steven Breun, is considering a career in unmanned aerial systems. Stephen has completed two years of this program at HCCTC and has developed a high interest in making this his future career choice . Stephen recently participated in a job shadow at Sky Dweller. He was able to tour the hanger and was able to observe a solar airplane that flies unmanned while discussing the logistics of this occupation with him. Miss Fricke’s Work Based Learning student, Catherine Sins, participated in a job shadowing day at S&F at Port Bienville. Catherine is interested in becoming a chemical engineer. Today she was allowed to speak to both chemical and mechanical engineers and observe job duties. This exposure was a great experience for Catherine’s future, as it gave her insight to the pathway she is choosing. Mr Chris Ladner's Precision Machining students and Mr. Willie Santiago's Welding students went on an industry site visit to Koenig Stainless. The owners, Aimee and Paul Koenig, graciously toured the students and spoke to them about the industry. Mrs. Phillips is our WaveMaker of the week at HCCTC!! Mrs. Phillips shows up each day with a positive, uplifting attitude that encourages her students to be their best. She works hard to give her Hydrography students great field trips to see first hand the opportunities that await them and she reaches out to industries to arrange knowledgeable speakers to speak to her class about opportunities in Hydrography. Students were timed in Mr. Moran's Automotive class for a test of brake system disassembly and reassembly. Brady Monaghan knocked it out of the park! He completed the disassembly and reassembly of the entire brake system in under 3 minutes! Way to go Brady!! #HawksHaveGrit #MakingWavesOfGreatness

Complete the interest form using the link on the Hancock County School District Website. Look for the blue button on the far right labeled “Pre-K Interest Form.”

After you complete the form, a Family Advocate will contact you to schedule an intake appointment. They will review your paperwork and let you know if your child qualifies.

📍 Where are the Pre-K classrooms located?
2 classrooms at West Hancock Elementary
1 classroom at Hancock North Central Elementary
1 classroom at South Hancock Elementary
✨ These are the designated Pre-K sites for the district. Students are not required to live in that school’s zone to enroll in its Pre-K class. As long as your family resides within Hancock County School District, your child may attend one of these locations.
⏰ Classes follow the school district’s calendar and operating hours.

No, transportation will not be offered at this time.

CTC Engineering and Hydrography 1 students attended an ANTX event during the Oceans in Action Conference in Biloxi. Students learned about marine science and technology used in Navy, NOAA, and tech industries.
